Installation and Care Instructions for PET Felt Acoustic Boards
Thank you for purchasing our PET Felt Acoustic Boards! This guide will help you with installation and provide care instructions to keep your boards looking great and performing well.
Installation Instructions
What You’ll Need:
- PET Felt Acoustic Boards
- Adhesive (Strong, Non-toxic Construction Glue or Double-Sided Mounting Tape)
- Measuring Tape
- Level
- Scissors or Utility Knife (if using tape)
- Pencil or Chalk (for marking placement)
Step-by-Step Installation:
1. Prepare the Surface:
- Ensure the surface where the boards will be mounted is clean, dry, and free from dust or oils.
- If necessary, use a mild cleaning solution and allow the surface to dry completely before proceeding.
2. Measure and Mark:
- Using your measuring tape, measure and mark the desired placement for your boards on the wall. Use a level to ensure the lines are straight.
- If you’re using a pattern or grid, mark where each board will be placed.
3. Prepare the Adhesive:
- For Glue: Apply a thin, even layer of adhesive to the back of the board. Ensure that it covers the entire surface.
- For Tape: If using double-sided tape, cut the tape into strips and apply them evenly across the back of the board. Leave some space around the edges for a clean finish.
4. Mount the Boards:
- Carefully press the board onto the marked area. Hold it in place for 30 seconds (if using glue) to ensure a secure bond.
- For tape, press down firmly to make sure the adhesive sticks.
5. Adjustments (if necessary):
- If the board isn’t perfectly aligned, gently lift and reposition it. However, this is easier to do with tape than glue, so be cautious when using glue.
6. Allow Time to Set:
- If using glue, allow the boards to set for at least 24 hours before making any adjustments or applying pressure.
Care Instructions
Daily Care:
- Wipe down the surface with a dry microfiber cloth to remove dust and debris.
- Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials that can damage the felt.
Deep Cleaning:
- For tougher stains or dirt, lightly vacuum the surface using a soft-brush attachment to avoid damaging the material.
- You can also gently spot clean with a damp cloth. Avoid soaking the boards as excessive moisture can affect their shape or performance.
Maintaining Adhesion:
- If any boards begin to lose adhesion, you may need to apply additional adhesive or replace the tape. Always check the mounting periodically to ensure they remain securely attached.
Avoid Direct Sunlight:
- Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause the boards to fade over time. Try to place the boards in a location where they won’t be exposed to harsh sunlight.
