About Us
I’m from Johannesburg, South Africa. I started as a voice artist, doing freelance work because I was passionate about voice overs. I had a studio at home with my equipment, headphones, and panels on the walls to keep the sound contained in the room so it wouldn’t bounce all over the place. This helped create that clean, echo-controlled sound so I could record in peace and present my work professionally.
Being a voice artist, I really enjoyed being in my studio. I loved sitting there, planning my life, and recording — even if it was just audio sent to artists or clients I was working with.
Then I started selling the panels because I saw a market for them, especially for artists. An opportunity came from selling those foam panels, but I wasn’t fully satisfied. They didn’t have a pop of colour or anything decorative. When you spend so much time in your studio, you want something that looks good too. I felt like I could make studios look cute and creative.

Then I came across PET felt boards, and I fell in love with them. I started using them in my office — they were beautiful, they worked perfectly, and they were very acoustic-friendly in my space. I loved them so much that I decided I was going to sell them too.
I wanted to create eco-friendly, sustainable PET felt acoustic boards, but make them decorative and fun. What’s the point of having acoustics if they can’t also be beautiful? People can decorate their offices, spaces, podcast backgrounds, or rooms while still getting great sound control.
I wanted to make acoustics artistic — with different shapes, patterns, and colours. Custom designs that are useful for reducing sound but also make your space look cute and unique.
And that’s how Acoustic Cave was born.
